Look no further! This is the absolute PERFECT guacamole recipe. The flavor is spot on and it is so easy to make!
The Right Stuff Makes Perfect Guacamole
I have RARELY found a store-bought guacamole that I’ve liked. Either there is too much garlic, or big chunks of tomatoes or onions that ruin it. This guacamole lives up to its name for it truly is the PERFECT GUACAMOLE.
It took some recipe testing to get it right. I’ve been making this guac for a long time now and always get asked how I made it. The ingredients are simple but you do need to ensure a few things. Here’s what’s in it and how you do it:
Avocados: Choose these carefully. A perfectly ripe avocado should be slightly firm with just a little give when you squeeze it. You will need 4 medium avocados for this recipe.
Diced Red Onion: Don’t worry. As I stated above, you will not bite into large chunks of onion if you dice it fine. Make sure you go over your chop an extra amount of times. You also want to ensure that the onions are all about the same size. I like to dice it really small to the point where it is almost mashed up. Then when I stir it into the avocado, the perfect flavor is infused.
Garlic Powder and Salt: I don’t like using fresh garlic in my guac. It doesn’t allow for the flavor to be dispersed enough throughout the guac. Garlic powder is a very fine powder that can mix in thoroughly and give the right amount of garlic for each bite.
Don’t forget a scant teaspoon of salt. This brings out all of the flavors to make it truly delicious.
Lime Juice: Finding a juicy fresh lime is your best bet here. I like to choose squeeze the whole thing and mix it in. I have subbed bottled lime juice when in a pinch and it does the trick, but fresh is best. You could also use lemon juice from a small lemon if need be, but lime is best!
Cilantro: Again…really finely dice and you will get the best flavor throughout. I use a tablespoon and it seems to be a good amount.
How To Store Perfect Guacamole:
Because you are adding the citrus with the lime juice, Perfect Guacamole will last a few hours or so without turning brown. I have found that for my family of five this recipe makes enough that we don’t have any left at the end of our meal. I would double the recipe for a large crowd.
Bottom line is….don’t store it. Eat it!
